Bergen UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy – since 2015

Bergen was designated a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2015, and became member of UNESCO’s global collaboration network of creative cities. There are 7 creative fields, one of them being gastronomy. Bergen is one of the gastronomy cities. The reports highlight both local and international activities undertaken by Bergen since 2015. The reports also include actions plans, built on the experience and network already established.

Ever since Bergen became a member of the network, the City of Bergen has conducted a range of efforts within food and sustainability across all city departments – from health, education, integration and urban farming to business, food festivals and culture. The City of Bergen has been an active contributor to the network internationally, with a close cooperation and many projects together with UNESCO cities in other countries.
